Roy Frye | About

I developed an interest in photography at an early age as I watched my father photograph medium-format images on black and white film. Using a developing tank and chemicals, he would produce small prints in our rather undersized bathroom that had been temporarily converted to a darkroom.

Following in his footsteps, by the time I was 12 years old, I had purchased an inexpensive camera and designed my own darkroom to produce contact prints.

As my passion for photography progressed, I acquired better equipment and focused on portrait and wedding photography. That passion later led me to work as a photojournalist, with my work published in a number of daily newspapers.

As the newsprint industry declined, I returned to portrait and wedding photography.

Today, I no longer do wedding photography. My focus is on my passion for large-print high-resolution portraiture, fine art photography and high-resolution video production.
